Mitch Leinen has once again swept the night at BRL!
The OnPitRoad.com Crooked Still Legends Series kicked off the night at Daytona. Daytona? Yes. The “short road course” configuration. And did it ever seem long… Leinen started on pole and led all of the 30 laps while the rest of us went sight seeing in different areas of the speedway! Christopher Hensley and Dylan Roe finished 2nd and 3rd. The Championship point standings have tightened up this week; Lowell Jewell still holds the top spot but is now tied with Brian Young. Two points back in 3rd is Leinen. Next week the series visits Bristol Motor Speedway, where it’s harder to get lost….
The Whiskey Run Street Stock Series was back to full throttle at South Boston Speedway this week. The finishing order from Concord was inverted to set the grid and Ricky Brinkman started on pole. Five lead changes among 3 drivers and 3 cautions later, Leinen takes the win. Brian Neff and Ricky Brinkman finished 2nd and 3rd. Fifteen points separate the top 4 in the Championship Standings. Lowell Jewell remains in the lead followed by Keith Haney and Brad Spidle. The series heads to Richmond International Raceway next weekend!
Oh, and there was a test race earlier in the evening for the upcoming Mountain Dew National Series. Care to guess who won? Yep, Mitch Leinen…. 🙂
